Conservative media group finds media biased - for McCain

Mon Jul 28, 2008 at 09:47:31 AM PDT

While the readers of DailyKos, and other Democratic-leaning blogs, probaby said "ho-hum" at the news that the media is biased towards John McCain, the revelation published in the Sunday LA Times is even more stunning when you consider the source of the study, the Center for Media and Public Affairs ("CMPA")

more after the flip.

This is the text of the email I just received from "Landslide" Joe Courtney, the US. Representative from eastern Connecticut.

Al Qaeda endorses McCain (for real)

Fri May 09, 2008 at 06:33:59 PM PDT

Back in 2004, Republicans used the terrorism issue to hammer Democrats.  Dick Cheney said that if we elected John Kerry, it would only be a matter of time before the terrorists would hit America again, and every call to withdraw from Iraq was greeted by jeers of retreating from the terrorists from Republicans.

We now have a real way to hit back at them on this issue that should be very easy for our media to understand.

Creating Talking Points to use in 2008

Thu May 31, 2007 at 07:49:06 AM PDT

This is my first diary since last fall before the elections when I had a few pro-Lamont or anti-Lieberman ones.

But, I think we need bulleted "Talking Points" points on each Republican presidential candidate. And, we need to have them prepared early, no matter how fringe they are at this time.  Then when the nomination process is finished, we have to pound home the theme on each candidate.

It sounds fairly easy, but I know organizing Democrats is sometimes only slightly less difficult than herding cats.

Let me explain my thinking on this issue.

CT-Sen: Rowland bag man funding Lieberman

Mon Nov 06, 2006 at 08:18:14 AM PDT

It seems that some money-men that helped contribute to disgraced governor John Rowland are now helping to fund Joe Lieberman  The paragraphs at the end of the article specifically mentioned how they got access to Rowland only after $75 million of CT pension money was invested in their company.

Unfortunately, it seems that the Rowland scandal has taken down all of Rowland's inner circle, except for Jodi Rell.  I hope it is not too late to tie Rowland to Joe Lieberman but it is late in the game.  It would need a concentrated effort of contacting state media.  It would be nice if we could connect them, as Rowland had like an 11% approval rating before he resigned.

But, it seems Joe Lieberman has no shame in taking money from disgraced Republics like Mack, and Mel Sembler.

CT-Sen - Excellent Anti-Lieberman editorial

Wed Nov 01, 2006 at 11:08:20 AM PDT

Excellent editorial in today's Manchester (CT) Journal-Inquirer.  I have been very impressed with their editorials in recent months after not having read the paper in several years.  They used to be a strongly partisan newspaper, but it was very Republican.  However, after not reading the paper from 2001-2005, it has been a pleasant surprise to find them now fairly progressive this year.  Not sure if they went through an ownership change or what, but I like it.

This is almost as good as their "GOP Joe" editorial from a few weeks back, and emphasizes how truly like a weathervane the whiny Joe Lieberman really seems to be.

I am embarrassed that this man has represented my state for these past 18 years as a Democrat, and will be even more embarrassed if he gets another six.

Lieberman activist breaks law - again

Tue Oct 31, 2006 at 05:35:36 AM PDT

I am shocked, I tell you, shocked.  A Joe Lieberman "activist" has been accused of breaking the law.  Again.  Apparently, this woman went around to nursing homes in the Hartford area to distribute absentee ballots and promoted Joe Lieberman while doing it.  She has previously been convicted of a similar offense in 2004.

I found it interesting that Joe Lieberman is so desperate for help that he is not doing background checks on people that are working for him - who knows how many other criminals are on his roster?

Also, a second article in today's Hartford Courant has Joe Lieberman borrowing some people from NYC Mayor Bloomberg to help in his GOTV efforts.  I have that below.

CT-04 Farrell pulls ahead of Shays

Mon Oct 30, 2006 at 10:28:32 AM PDT

This poll is a reverse of last month, where Shays had a 4 point lead.  I wonder if Shays' bizarre comments in recent weeks have had an effect?  You know, where he brought up Chappaquiddick in response to Mark Foley, and then said Abu Graib was a sex ring and not torture.

It's within the Margin of Error, but the trend is good!

Good news abounds in Connecticut for Congressional races today, it seems (I posted on Chris Murphy earlier today in an open thread) Hopefully, we can get some good news in the Senate in the next day or two.

Shays has been fairly moderate over the years, but is still part of the problem in that he votes for John Boehner (and, Tom DeLay before that) for Leadership.
